Crosswalks

I think it would be nice if crosswalks had some kind of technology built into them to determine how many people are waiting to cross the street or how badly a person wants to cross the street and then they could speed up the light accordingly. I think this because I habitually push the crosswalk button 5-10 times when no one is looking... I really hate waiting.
