I think I've mentioned this before but...
If you want to see if the roads a slick, simply take an unsuspecting friend out to the road and push them. If they fall down you'll know the roads are icy.... If a person slips so will a car. It's a good rule to remember.

Very true. You could also use animals, if you had no person handy.
And if they just fell from the push, well, they need to learn better balance anyway.
