My cat hates the neighbor's cat and vice versa. Which I think is really strange, they have so much in common... They're both cats for one... for another... nope that's it.
But I really believe that if they took the time to get to know one another, they would really like each other. I'm not sure how to convince them of this though. Lock them in a small room together until they work things out? Sedate them both for a prolonged period of time? Restrain their claws while holding them within inches of each others faces? So many options.
